The role of technology for disaster response and preparedness. A personal story
On Thursday July 7th 2005 I was travelling on the tube in London when a suicide bomber detonated an improvised explosive device a few metres away from me. While many weren’t as fortunate, I survived.
I helped create an online platform for survivors to connect, share, and support each other through recovery. Now, I support global platforms that unite people from across the world like London, Manchester, Boston, Somalia, Canada, and Ukraine and many others.
This is a story of how technology in many ways can make us more human
- London 7/7 2005
- Resilience
- Disaster response and preparedness
- My journey to the Whitehouse
- How technology can bring people together
- Scaling globally and what’s next
